Joella "Jody" Williams, Chair of Mainstream Oklahoma Baptists

Jody has been a member of Northwest Baptist Church in Ardmore, OK for more than three decades.  She serves as chairperson of the church's missions committee and as a member of their denominational relations committee.  Her heart for missions is demonstrated by her serving twenty-five years as WMU Director and fifteen years as Mission Friends leader.  Jody has also been a member of the sanctuary choir for twenty-five years and a young adult Sunday School teacher for seven years.  She also served for five years as a member of the Council of the Cooperating Baptist Fellowship of Oklahoma.

Jody graduated from Warren Easton High School in New Orleans, La. before attending college in Durant, OK.  She earned a B.A. degree in Art Education from Southeastern Oklahoma State University.  She has been an elementary art teacher for Lone Grove Public Schools in Lone Grove, OK since 1979.

Since 1998, Jody has been the local branch President of the American Association of University Women.  She is a twenty year member of both the Oklahoma Education Association/National Education Association and the Lone Grove Teachers Association.   She served three years as President of the Lone Grove Teachers Association.   Jody is also a member of the Oklahoma Arts and Humanities Council.
