In February 2000 a fight broke out in the High School at Wynnewood when some White students wore shirts bearing the Confederate flag to school.  African-American students were expelled from the school.  The white students were allowed to remain.  The ACLU has threatened to sue the Wynnewood school board on behalf of African-American students who reported that school officials had denied them permission to wear shirts bearing symbols of their African heritage.

On March 3, 2000 the editor of the editorial page of the Daily Oklahoman wrote an editorial entitled "Stonewall -- Romans 8:28-30."

The timing of McGuigan's editorial and his review of a book published by the publishing house of the Southern Baptist Convention disturbed Dr. Prescott.

Dr. Prescott wrote a letter to the editor in response to the March 3rd editorial.  The letter was read during the opening monologue of the "Religious Talk" radio program on March 5, 2000.  It was mailed to Pat McGuigan on the same day.

Pat McGuigan has not printed Dr. Prescott's letter to the editor.   He did publish another editorial entitled "Glorified -- Stonewall's Lessons" that appeared in the Daily Oklahoman on March 15, 2000.
